Our Corporate Contracts department that provides contract administration services to all of SRI's operating divisions, has the need for an energetic, highly motivated, self-starter to provide competent and professional contract administration support to various SRI research divisions. The Senior Contracts Officer will ideally be located in SRI’s Princeton, New Jersey, office, however, we will consider locating the position in Arlington, VA.
The Senior Contracts Officer will be responsible for providing cradle-to-grave government grant and contract negotiation and administration services for assigned proposals and contractual agreements consistent with SRI business practices, as well as for ensuring SRI's compliance with customer contractual requirements. This also includes the responsibility for implementing SRI's contracting policies and procedures and the interpretation and implementation of current government acquisition regulations and policies.
Other essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
--Provides government grant/contract negotiation and administration services consistent with SRI’s business practices and to ensure SRI compliance with customer contractual requirements. This includes primary responsibility for implementing SRI’s contracting policies and procedures, and the interpretation and implementation of current government acquisition regulations and policies. --Review RFPs and proposals to ensure accuracy with contracting requirements, and developing appropriate risk mitigation terms. --Conduct negotiations with clients on behalf of SRI, administer gratns, contracts and cooperative agreements, and provide counsel and assistance to divisional research and project support personnel to ensure SRI and clients meet obligations fully and in a timely manner. --Serve as a resource to division and project support personnel in areas of contract performance requirements and contract practices and regulations. --Maintaining strong and effective relationships with internal (e.g., technical, project staff, finance) and external clients.
This position has the authority to negotiate and obligate SRI to contract prices and terms within established guidelines and to sign off on proposals and contractual documents.
--BA/BS in Business or related field and/or equivalent, with 7-10 years of increasingly complex responsibilities and experience in grant administration/contracts functions required. --U.S. Citizenship plus the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required. --Current TS/SCI (or recent within 24 months) highly desirable. --Excellent written and oral communication skills, must have the ability to interact effectively orally and in writing with all levels of in-house and customer staff --Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving ability and good work habits --Must be able to prioritize workload using good judgment --Must have a strong familiarity and knowledge of government regulations and commercial contract practices --Must be detail-oriented and well organized --Must be able to work reasonably independent, exercise good judgment, and to respond quickly to a variety of in-house and customer requests --Must possess excellent customer-oriented skills
