Finance and Administration (F&A) is a service organization responsible for the planning, management, and accountability of the business, financial, and physical resources of UCAR, with a collective emphasis on excellence in customer service.
What You Will Do:
Reporting to the manager of Contracts within the F&A department, the Senior Contract Administrator is responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of complex, multi-phased prime contracts, grants and cooperative agreements, and other contractual instruments with our sponsors for the financial/programmatic support of UCAR activities. Serves as a liaison with outside agencies, other funding sources, as well as with internal management, corporate attorneys, and other UCAR personnel. Serves as a mentor for other Contract Administrators. Works closely with contract, financial, budget, and lab/program professionals to resolve issues related to contract provisions.
What You Need:
Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration and at least eight years of government contracts experience in handling direct funding arrangements such as grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert skill in analyzing terms and conditions of complex contracts and subcontracts.
Advanced skill in managing large complex, multi-phase contract projects.
Excellent written and oral communication skill with a wide range of people at all levels of an organization.
Advanced skill in negotiating complex contracts and other award related issues.
Advanced skill in managing time sensitive, high volume workload.
Advanced skill using Microsoft Word.
Intermediate skill using Microsoft Excel.
Working knowledge of basic not-for-profit accounting, budgeting and proposal process, including the application of indirect rates and fees.
Skill in preparing and giving presentations to UCAR personnel and other contracting personnel.
Advanced skill in identifying liability, risk, export, and intellectual property issues and proposing solutions.
Extensive level of attention to detail required.
