BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair is hiring 1Full Time Contracts Administrator II (Repair Estimator):
The Contract Administrator II candidate will be heavily involved in developing, issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) for various sub- contractors based on issued Sub contractor take Off List (STOL). Monitor and track issued RFPs to ensure that sub proposals are received when due. Review, and evaluate received sub -contractor pricing, clear and verify sub- contractor exceptions. Develop Request for Contract Change (RCC) estimates using IMS COPA and or Activity Based Estimate (ABE) form. Develop pricing analysis for any sole source award to demonstrate fair and reasonableness of the price. Assist Senior Contract Administrators in entering/uploading RCC information in Modification Log, and assist in contract negotiations with the customer as needed.
Typical Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills and Education
* Current Enrollment in SDSU Contracts Certification Program
* Must have 5 or more years of experience in a shipyard environment with a general understand of Contracts Change Order process and the working knowledge of IMS. * Proficient with PC specifically MS Office applications such as Excel and Word and Outlook. * Frequent use and general knowledge of Industry practices, techniques, and standards. General Application of concepts and principles. * Develops solutions ta a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Referring to policies and practices for guidance. * Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy. * Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. * Frequent internal and external contacts in the solicitation of subcontracted work efforts as well as potential scoping with customer.
