A Procurement Specialist IV is being sought to join Fermilab’s Procurement Department. The selected candidate will develop PIP-II’s supply chain. The Procurement Specialist IV will plan acquisitions, build solicitations & contracts, & negotiate to obtain materials and services at the best value possible.
This position will be based in Batavia, IL and will report to the PIP-II Project Procurement Manager.
Serve as a procurement subject matter expert in areas such as construction, services, supplies, and fabrication.
Plan, solicit, analyze, and negotiate.
Perform subcontract administration and ensure the completeness, organization, and accuracy of the subcontract file is in compliance with subcontract terms and conditions, including timely delivery of goods and services, Buy American Act, Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act, workplace safety, insurance, payment, socio-economic provisions and others as appropriate.
Plan and develop subcontracting requirements with internal Laboratory customers.
Keep abreast of new and revised regulations by reviewing policies and procedures, trade journals, government regulations and procurement laws, and participating in on-the-job training, staff meetings, and formal/specialized training.
May supervise lower level personnel as assigned; may lead project teams with accountability for ongoing project objectives and may assist in training others as assigned.
Manage to and be accountable for established Procurement metrics.
Provide excellent customer service and meet established customer service goals.
Abide by and are responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, English, or Communications AND a minimum of nine (9+) years’ relevant work experience
Professional certification such as Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM)
Completion of Federal procurement courses
Successes writing and negotiating contracts
