We are currently seeking multiple “Contract Specialist” GS – Level 13 for a 1-year position with the CDC in Atlanta, GA. Out of State candidates encouraged to apply, they can work remotely. The position will be a minimum of one year with renewal for additional year contingent on availability of funds. Candidates must be US Citizens and be able to clear an extensive background check.
Skills required for Contract Specialist : The incumbent shall perform tasks that encompass the full range of document processing in support of DSNS program requirements from solicitation to award, and post-award administration to contract close-out, for a large variety of actions ranging from small purchases to multi-million-dollar contracts. The incumbent must, at times and as appropriate, attend meetings and participate in conference calls. The incumbent shall be required to assist in and document acquisition planning, market research, government requirements documentation, pre-award communication, proposal evaluation documentation, negotiation documentation, file maintenance, inspection and recommendation for acceptance of deliverables, quality assurance and evaluation recommendations, processing and documenting pre-award actions, monitor and document contractor performance, and provide effective program communications. Support of acquisition and business actions will be essential to supporting the SNS mission including the COVID-19 Pandemic response. The incumbent must be, or become familiar with, ASPR systems, the email system, CITGO, and others.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field with at least 24 semester hours in business related coursework in the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
4 years of experience in federal contracting.
DAWIA or FAC-C highly preferred
Must have a good knowledge of the FAR clauses.
In-dept working knowledge of federal procurement regulations and policies.
Ability to perform complex cost and/or price analysist functions.
Knowledgeable and experience using electronic media, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power-Point, etc.)
Excellent communications skills, oral and written.
Strong attention to detail.
