Summary Member of a team of attorneys and contracts professionals responsible for managing and overseeing the foundation’s contracts work. Responsible for working directly with foundation operations and program teams to draft and negotiate their contracts, to help them develop good contracting practices, and to educate and advise them on the risks inherent in their contracts as well as strategies to mitigate those risks. Also responsible for working with colleagues in GCS, Legal and across the foundation to optimize systems, templates and processes related to contracts. Will work closely with the foundation’s new Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team to advance a foundation-wide initiative to develop and implement strategic sourcing, vendor management and procurement strategies.
Core Responsibilities * Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts (and amendments) with an emphasis on consistency, clarity and compliance with applicable laws, policies, processes and best practices * Engaging with internal clients, including establishing good working relationships, understanding their objectives, and completing their contracts in a smooth and efficient manner * Mastering foundation policies, processes, systems and best practices * Leading or facilitating negotiations between multiple parties within and outside the foundation * Providing training and guidance to colleagues and internal clients regarding contracts and foundation policies, processes, systems and best practices related to contracts * Contributing to projects and other continuous improvement efforts, including the optimization of foundation contract templates, processes and playbooks * Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies * Negotiate and implement vendor contracts/agreements by working with cross-functional stakeholders and vendors to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions * Participating in sourcing engagements (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and other efforts around vendor selection/qualification, engagement, and performance management * Acting as a liaison with the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team to identify opportunities for improving and streamlining end-to-end processes

Education and Experience * Advanced degree with 5 PLUS years of experience, or equivalent experience. * Strong background in contracts management, strategic sourcing and/or category management (i.e., indirect categories)
* Experience with technologies and processes for contract automation, strategic sourcing, vendor management, procurement, and risk management a plus
