Senior Contract Specialist (DAWIA Level II Certification)
Job Location: Andrews AFB, Maryland. Some telework authorized.
TENICA is looking for a contract specialist that acts with urgency, is customer focused and works independently in a dynamic office with an exciting mission. The contract specialist will work on domestic and/or international contracts in varying environments that are both challenging and rewarding.
This position is part of a team of contract professionals who perform the coordination, negotiation and management of moderately complex proposals and contract/task orders under minimal supervision. Candidate must have knowledge of Government contracting methods, including policies procedures and regulations to provide appropriate support during the contract life cycle from pre-solicitation, to proposal development and submission, discussions/negotiation, award, contract execution and contract closeout. Candidate must be to develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers.
General Requirements: Experience successfully managing routine to moderately complex matters and providing assistance on broad agency efforts in the relevant subject matter area. Proficiency in drafting contractual documents such as solicitations, awards, and related documentation using the Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2), SPS or a comparable contract writing system is required. Experienced in analysis, attention to detail interaction and coordination with other personnel on policy or process matters and application of procedures, research, documentation and forming recommendations. Demonstrated ability to perform most work independently in a mid-level, non-managerial role, exercising much latitude over steps to carry out taskings, prioritize workload and make recommendations on overall strategies.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree, 12 years of contracting experience in Department of Defense (DoD), and Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification is required for performance of this task. APDP Level II certification in contracting is equivalent to DAWIA Level II.
