The Sr. Contracts Administrator will become an integral part of MIKEL’s Contracts/Supply Chain/Property team.
Nature of Role: Reporting to the Director of Contracts, the Sr. Contracts Administrator will focus on negotiation, administration, and closeout of government and commercial contracts.
Prime and subcontract negotiation, administration and closeout
Review, analyze, and make recommendations on contractual documents to mitigate risk, satisfy terms, and adhere to company policy
Maintain and update contract and subcontract documents; input contract data into the Contracts Management module in Cost Point
Provide proposal support, including customer fact-finding and negotiations
Review and analyze government and commercial solicitations to understand requirements, make recommendations on business risk issues, and assist the proposal team to assure fully responsive proposals
Oversee contract performance – monitor compliance documents to ensure contract deliverables are achieved on-time and are consistent with contract requirements
Advise management of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of and recommendations on terms and conditions
Maintain official program records, including contracts and correspondence for assigned programs
Interface with senior management and customer counterparts
Assist the Senior Buyer to ensure purchase requisitions are compliant with prime contract/subcontract funding limitations and period of performance
Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders e.g., pricing, program management, business development and capture management, finance, and supply chain management, to achieve successful contract execution
Knowledge of contract pricing principles, and the ability to apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation, contract execution, and customer relationships
Experience in reviewing contract terms and conditions, writing contract clauses, teaming agreements, and reaching win-win negotiated agreements
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills in dealing with competing priorities, deadlines, and in handling multiple tasks
Knowledge of international contracting, i.e., DCS, FMF and FMS, including ITAR, EAR, FCPA
Working knowledge of, and experience with, FAR and DFARS; this includes experience with research, interpretation and compliance to the FAR and DFARS
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight years of Contracts Administration experience in the U.S. defense industry is essential. An advanced degree coupled with Contracts Management certification (i.e., CPCM) is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of FAR and DFARs, pre-and post-award practices, techniques and standards of federal government contracting. Additionally, the Sr. Contracts Administrator will have experience with multiple contracting formats (firm, fixed cost, and cost reimbursable) and with various types of agreements (non-disclosure and teaming).
